Ken Burns’ new documentary and a corrupt former Seattle cop [who became a Christian Scientist while in prison]

A preview of the latest Ken Burns documentary, “Prohibition,” is airing at 7 p.m. Saturday on KCTS (Seattle). For the three-part documentary, which debuts Oct. 2 on PBS, Burns and co-director Lynn Novick researched Roy Olmstead, a notorious Seattle cop who was busted for bootlegging….In prison, Olmstead began studying Christian Science and spent time rehabilitating prisoners at the King County Jail after his release. His work earned him a pardon from President Roosevelt. Read story»

    This was of great interest since I have served on the Institutional Cmte in TX, and have signed the applications for several inmates joining The Mother Church. I’ll look foward to Ken Burn’s program.
