“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

Do you think God would actually lead you into temptation? It seems to me that we have enough problems on our own without the Almighty leading us into them. According to the late Dr. George Lamsa, a renowned Bible scholar, the Aramaic interpretation of this verse actually means “Do not let us enter into temptation.” People who speak Aramaic often would say, “do not let us be in need,” or “prevent me from making a mistake.” … Ready story»
