Coleman defies call to end prayer luncheon [Columbus, OH]

Mayor Michael B. Coleman defied a demand from a national group that calls his annual prayer luncheons unconstitutional, promising he’ll hold them as long as he’s mayor and will encourage the next mayor to follow in his footsteps.

Coleman held his 13th Interfaith Prayer Luncheon yesterday despite a letter of criticism from the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a nonprofit group that seeks to promote constitutional separation of church and state and to offer education on non-theism. Read story»
