Hemingway churches collaborate to present drive-thru prayer stations in Johnsonville (South Carolina)

FLORENCE, S.C. – Two Hemingway pastors are reaching out to Johnsonville residents in a series of prayer events beginning Saturday morning. The Rev. Ernest Frierson, pastor of Jeremiah and Mt. Seal United Methodist Churches, and the Rev. Tenney Rupnick of Ebenezer United Methodist Church are collaborating to host drive-thru prayer stations on Saturday, March 12, April 9 and April 23 in the Old Don Fenters Chevrolet parking lot in Johnsonville.

Individuals and families seeking prayer may drive through the parking lot from 10 a.m. to noon on the scheduled Saturdays and remain in their vehicles as they are being ministered to. The pastors and their churches’ prayer ministry teams will pray for those people who attend the events. “Nowadays, we find less and less attendance in the normal church setting, so it is incumbent upon clergy and laity, alike, to develop opportunity for the unchurched, quote unquote, to feel part of the church faith-based community,” Frierson said. “Drive-thru prayer will give them just that opportunity.”…
