Remembering Marilyn

November 15, 2018

To our site users and supporters:

marilyn.mohlenbrockOur dear Marilyn passed on peacefully yesterday. She has been such an example of love, care and forgiveness and I have learned much from her and am a better person for it. We’ve had such fun together studying CS and building our web sites and Foundation. I’m sure she’s on to bigger projects, blessing many more. Although mostly behind the scenes, Marilyn was with me since day one of CSDirectory and Prayerful Living. She has been my biggest supporter and encourager. More recently her weekly contribution of the “Selected Correlative Article References from the CS periodicals” supplement became one of the most popular resources on our site each week. Marilyn loved Christian Science and church. She was very active in her branch church in Fish Hoek, South Africa where she grew up. She was in England, working for the Claremont-Fancourt (CS) School when she read posts I was writing about church and Christian Science on the Yahoo discussion groups and we began to chat about Christian Science, house churches and much more and our relationship began. She emigrated to the USA with her daughter and we were married in a Christian Science church (yes, a CS church!) We’ve had so many lovely experiences together broadening our concept of church and helping Christian Scientists throughout the world — from developing our web sites, teleconferenced church services, her “Reading Buddy” program where she put together volunteers to read to people with vision challenges, our Healing Music internet radio station, Christian Science Singles (now Prayerful Living Singles), online CS practitioners through our PrayerfulHelp.com site, and helping people in need around the world access our weekly Bible Lesson study materials. Her legacy lives on in the work we will continue to do. – Mark Mohlenbrock
